Countdown to the first games of the college basketball season:  25 days

 

  • St. John’s settled for a lot of jump shots last year and the Rumble in the Garden blog discusses the findings that were brought to light via ESPN.  The post, which includes quotes from the Johnnies head coach Steve Lavin, uses advanced metrics from other sources that shows just how much and which players took jump shots.  St. John’s offense, to no surprise given the nature of this post, was rather inefficient last year – ranking 214th in the country per kenpom.com.
